Maths Week

22nd Oct 2025

During Maths Week, from the 11th-19th October, the Junior and Senior Infant classes had lots of fun exploring numbers and shapes through creative hands-on activities. The children played with blocks to build towers on a race track, to learn about counting and number. They also used playdough to make a variety of 2D shapes, learning how to recognise and name each one.

Another exciting activity was creating witches using 2D shapes. The pupils carefully cut out triangles, circles, and rectangles, using their fine motor skills to shape and stick each piece together. Through these playful tasks, the children developed their understanding of maths in a fun and imaginative way, combining creativity with learning.
