Chinese Vases with Cherry Blossoms
19th Apr 2026
4th and 5th class created beautiful Chinese vases inspired by traditional blue-and-white pottery. They began by observing and discussing the shape, patterns and decorations often seen on Chinese vases, before designing their own.
Each child drew and decorated a vase using borders, animal motifs and floral patterns. They used different shades of blue, carefully adding tone and gradation to create detail and effect. To complete their artwork, the children painted cherry blossom branches and added pink and purple crepe paper blossoms.
The finished pieces are bright, detailed and very eye-catching. Well done to all the children on their wonderful creativity and careful work!
